Maryland School for the Deaf Foundation

Dear Friend of MSD:

The Maryland School for the Deaf Foundation will host a Bowling Tournament to benefit the Maryland School for the Deaf on Sunday, May 2, 2010 from 1 – 4 P.M. The Tournament will be held at the Mt. Airy Bowling Lanes, Center St. Ext, Mt. Airy, MD.

We invite you to participate in the tournament as a Team Captain. As the captain, you need to recruit five additional bowlers for your team. Each person on the team, including you, must raise a minimum of $167.00 in pledges. This will be a total of $1,002.00 from your team. All bowlers participate in two games of bowling, including shoes, at no charge. 

Your team is not limited to raising $1002.00! You may raise as much money as you can. Prizes will be awarded to the team who raises the most money, and also to the individual raising the most money. Participants will bowl two games, and trophies will be awarded to the top two teams.

Teams and individuals can raise money in a variety of ways: ask friends and family to sponsor you at a set amount ($10, $20, $25, etc.); ask your employer to sponsor you (some may give $100, $500 or more!); have a 50/50 drawing once a week; sponsor a car wash or garage sale, have a bake sale, silent auction or white elephant sale at work, with your co-workers donating the items. By working together and everybody doing a little to make a big difference, we can proudly support deaf children in Maryland.

If you are able to make this commitment to helping others, please complete the attached registration form and return promptly – we are limited to 12 teams (mail to address above, or e-mail to me). I am attaching additional forms that you and your team can use (sponsor request letter, sponsor form, receipt for donation). You can make copies of the forms to distribute to your teammates & begin collecting pledges! All monies will be due no later
than the day of the event!
