MSD Foundation supports the students of the Maryland School for the Deaf through the provision of scholarships and awards, leadership initiatives, enhanced computer technologies and equipment.  This support is made possible by general donations, memorial donations and by donations received in our Annual Giving Campaign.

Scholarships and Awards

During the 2018-2019 academic year, MSDF assisted more than 50 students to attend leadership, sports and special interest camps beyond the school curriculum. In addition, the Foundation enabled an MSD Senior to travel to China with the International Orioles,  provided support to the MSD Academic Bowl Team, facilitated the involvement of 11 pre-K students in a local theater production and presented end of year merit awards and scholarships to 14 deserving students.

Although the COVID-19 pandemic interrupted the 2019-2020 academic year, MSDF was still able to assist more than 45 students directly and more than 200 hundred indirectly through purchases for the school, such as new technology for the math department and assisting on a purchase of a new scoreboard.

MSD Foundation will accept student and staff scholarship requests from 1 September through 1 June annually. Priority will be given to students facing financial hardship, however the program is open to all current MSD students, regardless of age or financial status. Non-financial need requests will generally be held over until June 1 and will then be considered in the order received.
